What drives us to drinks in 2009?

 

The New Zealand Nutrition Foundation invites you to attend a seminar by international authority on nutrition and dietetics, Professor Linda Tapsell. 
 
What do drinks contribute? Linda Tapsell will discuss the role of beverages today, examining their contribution to our overall diet and recent research showing future functional potential.
 
What do consumers want from drinks? Claire Richards will present recent research, revealing consumer motivations behind choosing different drinks.
 
Drinks in sport.  Caryn Zinn will outline the hydration requirements of sportspeople - from the weekend warrior to the elite endurance athlete - highlighting current areas of research

About Professor Linda C Tapsell
PhD, MHPEd, DipNutrDiet, BSc, MAIFST, AdvAPD, FDAA
Linda is a Professor of Nutrition at the School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences, University of Wollongong, New South Wales. She is also Director of the Smart Foods Centre.
Nutrition research interests vary widely, but include functional foods, diet and the metabolic syndrome, dietary methodology, food habits and food choice in a social context.
A fellow of the Dietitians Association of Australia, Linda is also the longstanding editor of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Journal of the Dietitians Association for Australia and the New Zealand Dietetic Association.
About Claire Richards
Claire is the Insights and Strategy Manager at Coca-Cola Oceania. As a specialist in interpreting quality consumer research, she is well placed to discuss what drives different people to choose certain beverages.
About Caryn Zinn
Carynis a New Zealand Registered Dietitian and is accredited as a sports nutritionist with Sports and Exercise Science New Zealand. A senior lecturer at AUT University, she teaches sport and public health related nutrition. She is also undertaking her PhD in the area of workplace weight loss. Caryn runs a private practice, where she consults with both elite and recreational athletes.
As the Dietitian associated with the Auckland marathon, she sees many endurance competitors. In addition, she partners with the New Zealand Academy of Sport and works closely with triathletes and sailors.
